Benita is the youngest of seven siblings. They all lived together with mum Alice, mum Alberta and grandpa. They were really happy. But everything changed when mum Alice disappeared. Days passed and there was no sign of Alice. On Benita’s birthday, Mandarina the fairy came to visit her.

In 2009 Juana Cortés Amunarriz published her first novel, Memorias de un ahogado with the publishing house El tercer nombre. She has also published Queridos niños, Las batallas silenciosas  and the teen novel Corazón, mano, corazón which received the prize Avelino Hernández and was short-listed in the Youth Literature Awards of the Basque Country.

João Valente is an architect, a musician and an illustrator. He likes surfing almost as much as he likes drawing. This love drove him to choose illustration as his favourite profession. He has illustrated travelling guides and also the book Benita and the fairy Tangerine, written by Juana Cortés Amunárriz.
