Manfred Mai is regarded as one of Germany’s major children’s book authors. After taking a degree in history, politics and German he became a teacher, before devoting himself full-time to writing in 1984. Since then he has published some 150 books, ranging from picture books for very young children through to novels and non-fiction books for older children — some of which have been translated into twenty five different languages.
Jochen Stuhrman studied at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences illustration. Since graduating in 2004, he worked as a freelance illustrator for magazines and book publishers. He lives with his wife and child in Hamburg.
