Maria Lebedeva is an illustrator and lecturer, currently based in Somerset West, South Africa. She has a BA Information Design degree from the University of Pretoria, an MPhil in Illustration from Stellenbosch University, and is currently working on a PhD study on wordless picturebooks. Children’s books are her absolute favourite thing in the world, and she has a passion for crafting visual storylines. Her work has been published by Bumble Books, Imagnary House and Lapa publishers in South Africa, and shown in many local galleries.
