Aysun Berktay Özmen carries her love of nature into the children’s books that she writes and illustrates. In the Blue Series that consists of three story books and an activity book, she tells the stories of three different animals. BLUE MOGI is about a bear cub who is born with blue fur. In the forest where he lives with his mother and other bears, he feels lonely because he has no friends; other bear cubs make fun of his blue fur. A heroic act by Mogi on a winter day will teach the others that our differences make us special.Aysun Berktay Özmen started her career as an art teacher. In 2010 she won Tudem Literature Awards called “Write, Draw, Paint Greeting to the Books!” with her book named The Gardener Mole and the Termite Kıvırcık. In 2010 she also won Gulten Dayioglu Illustrated Children’s Book Award with her book named Ecoist Frog King. She lives in the countryside and continues her work from her studio near a lake where she observes the nature and continues to write stories about nature.
